Anti-virus is so last year ...
If you have an AV solution in your IT environment then you have taken the first step in making sure your systems are safe. However, with the increase in cyber attacks and virus proliferation, the traditional AV is no longer able to provide an effective solution to you networks security.
Endpoint detection and response (EDR) is the process of monitoring endpoint activity in real time, looking for digital threats and implementing measures to halt and remediate those threats. Conventional forms of endpoint protection, which include antivirus/antimalware tools and firewalls, protect against known threats. EDR, in contrast, also identifies novel threats and behaviour-based attacks. Moreover, EDR can take active steps to mitigate threats, protecting the devices and systems connected to the network.
